Mleeta Museum
Located in a mountainous area about 30 kilometers southeast of Saida, this resistance monument at Mleeta is an intriguing mix of memorial, museum and theme park. This 60,000 square meter area served as the strategic and military base of the Lebanese resistance. It was the position from where thousands of military missions were conducted. The museum was created in memory of the faith, endurance and free will of men fighting against the occupation of their country.
Beaufort Castle
Towering on a hill in the Arnoun area, Kalaat Cheiif or Beaufort Castle, stands tall, a witness to Lebanon’s history from the middle ages till modern times.
Visiting the castle is a lesson in history, architecture and no doubt an excuse for a beautiful outing in the southern countryside.
